Petrider Paul

Petrider Paul, is a renowned Girls and Women’s rights defender, and an influencer for promotion of children’s rights holds a BA in International Relations from the University of Dodoma and a Post-Graduate in Economic Diplomacy from the Center for Foreign Relations in the – United Republic of Tanzania, as an appointed African Union Youth Advisory Council Member she is also a team leader at Voice Out Gender- Based Violence Initiative as a team leader working to end child early forced marriage, Female Genital Mutilation and Teenage pregnancies.

Among many accolades, she is the Points of Light Award recipient from Her Majesty the Queen II 2018 for her voluntary work to campaign to end child marriage and Gender-based violence in the Commonwealth and an East African Community Youth Ambassador.

As a Girls rights defender, she is on a mission to ensure that customs, traditions and norms which lead to the practice of Female Genital Mutilation are abandoned among the community and girls , women are free from any form of Gender-based violence.

She is passionate about gender equality after realizing that many children especially a girl child’s rights are violated from being deprived of education , right to decision making they have no say because ‘its just a girl’ she established girls’ rights clubs – a school club organization, For the first time, she could change and impact lives of other young girls in a positive way.
